“丝绸之路人文合作奖”颁奖仪式暨2012上合组织北京峰会“和睦”国际美术作品展

In concert with the 2012 SCO Beijing Summit, the Award Ceremony of Silk Road Award of Humanistic Cooperation & Opening Ceremony of Harmony International Arts Exhibition was held in the Great Hall of the People on June 6th. State councilor Dai Bingguo of China and President Emomalii Rahmon of Tajikistan attended the ceremony and cut the ribbon to open the arts exhibition.

The promotion of Silk Road Humanistic Cooperation Award aims to propagate the spirit embodied by Silk Road – Peace, Harmony and Cooperation, to strengthen the friendly ties with the neighbor countries, facilitate the long-last friendship among SCO member countries and praise both Chinese and foreigners who have made outstanding contribution to promote the humanistic communication and cooperation among SCO member countries.

Under the collaboration with many non-profit institutions, Silk Road – Peace Award Organizing Committee is sponsored by Global Peace Tour of World-famous Chinese Artists with Their Drawings Organizing Committee Co, Ltd. with the aim to inherit the Silk Road spirit of peace, cooperation, harmony and communication, to enhance the mutual trust in political, economic and humanistic cooperation and to ensure the peaceful development of countries in Silk Road region. With 7 years’ preparation, Silk Road – Peace Award has received support from over 10 political figures, 47 international institutes of arts and transnational enterprises. During its preparation, the delegation of Peace Tour has left its footstep on the land of 17 countries and regions, granting the trophies and honorary certificates of “Ambassador of Peaceful Art” and “Ambassador of Peaceful Art” to over 50 artists and honoring the title of “Silk Road City of Peace” to one city.

Russian artists Mira Mihailovna Kolitcova, Mr. Rashid Alimov, ambassador of Tajikistan to China, Uzbekistan social activist Gulinara Karimova, Kazakhstan scholar Duken Mazimhan, Mr. Sultan Raev, former Minister of Culture of Kyrgyzstan and professor Hu Zhenhua from Minzu University of China won the Silk Road Award of Humanistic Cooperation. Mr. Zhang Deguang, honorary director-general of Beijing Peace Tour Cultural Exchange Center, claimed that the Award Ceremony of Silk Road Award of Humanistic Cooperation is a highlighting prelude to the SCO summit. He said that the six award-winners had exhibited pioneering spirit in their respective field, with their diligence and wisdom in arts embodying the Silk Road spirit of communication, exchange, friendship, inclusiveness and cooperation, setting up positive models for humanistic communication and cooperation among SCO member countries. He expressed his faith in the promotion of the Silk Road Award in propelling the friendly cooperation among different countries in the region. Harmony International Arts Exhibition, as an important activity of SCO Beijing Summit, is one of the high-level cultural exchange activities held among SCO member countries. The current exhibition attracted over 50 artists from the member countries with 120 pieces of artworks, which depicts natural scenery, cultural sights and national traits and mirrors the profound cultural heritage and unique artistic charisma in those countries.

24 Chinese and foreign artists, including Ai Xuan, Fan Yang, Zheng Yi, Ma Jun, Ombysh-Kuznetcov Mikhail, Cykhovetskaya Yulia, Kudrevatyi Mikhail and Ivankin Vadim, et al, won the Excellent Artwork Award of Harmony International Arts Exhibition in 2012 SCO Beijing Summit.

In the Award Ceremony of Harmony International Arts Exhibition, Mr. Feng Yuan, vice-president of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and vice-president of China Artists Association said the artworks displayed in exhibitions reflected the latest artistic techniques and trend in different countries, providing an unprecedented opportunity for Chinese and foreign artists to learn from each other and offering a new perspective for artistic creation in China. He wished the artists from home and abroad, especially the Chinese artists can take the opportunity of this exhibition and actively participate in the international activity, yielding more excellent artists and artworks to consolidate the base of China to be a cultural superpower and to contribute their part to the prosperity of artistic creation in China.
